After the breakdown of the crack empire, many drug dealers that used to work for Smoke and its affiliates went downhill financially. Los Santos Vagos became the number one gang on cocaine distribution as well as the main crack producer. The Ballas lost a big slice of their territory. The majority of the Ballas and their associates relocated back to Idlewood and Jefferson. Their drug empire slowly decreased as the Vagos quickly took over the market due to their contacts in Mexico and Columbia.

Tyrone Williams and Joseph Harris were two of those drugs dealers that used to work for Smoke's associates, especially the Front Yard Ballas. After the breakdown, the lack of supply from a reliable source made Joseph and Tyrone accumulate tons of debts to high ranked members of the Ballas. A few months passed until both men decided to hit a house in Las Colinas which was known to be used by the Vagos to stash their cash.
