Carl egy átlagos ember,aki meglátta Chell-t a portál fegyverrel.Tudta hová kell mennie,hogy megszerezze.Elment az Aperture Science Centerbe,ott GLaDOS ad neki egy halálos fegyvert,ezután az első kettő tesztben meg kell ölnünk embereket,a 3.tesztben pedig felvesszük a kezünkbe a portál fegyvert.
