When did they capture the leader of the Valdez cartel and kidnap Jimmy? How do I have to play again from the beginning because I got lost?

It wasn't the leader of the Valdez cartel, like it says in the mission it's actually the brother-in-law to Miguel who is the leader of the cartel. Jimmy being kidnapped and everything else just happened in this mission so you're not lost.
